  • SELF IMPROVEMENT

A year or so ago a friend of mine told me I need to check out Self Improvement, and telling me to get their self released LP before it sells out. Fortunately, he kept on me to check them out, and he was absolutely correct. Self Improvement are great! One of the best bands I’ve heard in a while, and there’s a lot of really great music happening these days, so the bar is high and they surpass it. You can get a copy of their latest LP, Syndrome, here: https://selfimprovement.bandcamp.com/album/syndrome.

  • IT’S THE PITS, MAN!

People doing their thing in the circle pit at the Moroccan Lounge, and Towne Square in downtown Los Angeles.

  • ANIMATED VIOLENCE

These photos are from three shows Animated Violence played last year and this year. The color shots are from Febuary 10, 2024 at Supply & Demand in Long Beach, and the black & white shots directly below the color set are from the Moroccan Lounge in DTLA on October 20, 2024, and the bottom five photos are from their Towne Square show on March 17, 2025. They have a cassette available through Bandcamp, or better yet, pick it up when they play your area. I am told they have an EP in the works.

  • STREET GOBLINS

This was my first time seeing Street Goblins. I will definitely make a point of seeing them again when they play. I caught them at the Moroccan Lounge this past Sunday night on a bill of all Southern California area bands. They crank out fast and loud hardcore punk with a tuneful edge. As you can see they also have the stage presence. I believe the vocalist was/is also in Goop.

  • MR. RADICAL

Mr. Radical are one of the best live hardcore punk bands in Southern California these days. Every show they go full force. Nardcore via Orange County. These photos are from the show they played in the riverbed near the Bellflower skatepark this past summer, and their recent show at Don Quixote in East La.

  • DIE-SECT

Die-Sect rolled down the through California with B.L.I.S.S. back in early September and blew out everyones eardrums with their sonic attack. Go see them when they hit your town.
