American Spectrum, from out of Portland, came through So Cal a couple weeks back and blew minds with their straight to the point hardcore punk attack. I wish they were local. You can get their tape here

Zero Sanity from Portland, OR tore it up here in lovely So Cal recently (9/17/26 – 9/20/26). Raging hardcore punk delivered in short and to the point blasts of sonic aggression. They have a couple of demos and a split with American Spectrum released for this tour. You can get the demos here. As for the split tape with American Spectrum, “ask a punk” as the youth says. Color photos were taken at the 9/20/2026 show at Purgatory Alley behind Purgatory Pizza (they do have vegan slices, and when it’s available, their vegan Pickle Rick pie is the 9th Wonder of the World). Black & white photos were taken at the 9/19/2026 show at Hello Yoga in Costa Mesa.

Screaming Fist (Oakland) made their way down to DTLA on May 9, 2026 and ripped through a blazing set at that pirate ship run aground, the Redwood Bar & Grille. Make sure you get their 7″ EPs and see them live as often as possible.

Second time seeing Brox, and just as great and unforgettable as the first time.

Los Angeles has so many great bands these days it’s almost ridiculous. Memo PST is one of them.
